Open Dye Day: Saturday April 1 from 10 AM- 4 PM
  Would you like to play with dye? Want someone else to do the prep work and cleanup? Drop by The Cat and Crow back room anytime today to dye a skein of yarn, a sock blank, or some roving. $10 (to dye up to 1 lb. of fiber) Yarn and fiber to dye will be available for purchase.


Beginning Knitting: Tuesdays April 4, 11, and 18 from 6:30- 8 PM

​  Learn how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off while you make a basket-weave scarf. $45 includes pattern and practice yarn. 


Poetry Reading Event: Friday April 7 from 7-8:30 PM

  Gary Boelhower (Rebecca's Dad) will be debuting his new book, Naming Rites. Gary has won the Midwest Book Award and the Foley Prize for his poetry. He will be doing some reading, signing books, and sharing great treats! We get to listen, work on crafts, and enjoy! FREE


Basic Crochet: Saturday April 8 from 9 AM- Noon

  Learn the basics of crochet and make a fun flower along the way! We'll have practice yarn for you in worsted weight; you can bring or borrow a crochet hook. $30.


Mini-World Needle Felting: Saturday April 22 from 9 AM- Noon

​  Make a scene of your choosing small enough to fit in a teacup! We'll provide the tools, fiber, and know-how. You can bring a fancy teacup or we'll have a simple glass dessert cup for your creation. $35 includes materials.


Toe-Up, 2-at-a-time Socks: Wednesdays May 3, 10, and 17 from 6:30- 8 PM

  Learn how to use the "magic loop" method of knitting socks so you can knit two on the same needle.  We'll do a special cast on, a different heel, and some loose bind off techniques. $45 includes pattern.


Chocolate and Yarn Experience: Saturday May 6 at 6 PM at Sjölind's Chocolate Factory

  Join us for a chocolate and yarn tasting at Sjölind's.  This event is a local focus; local yarns from local farms and dye workshops with confections hand crafted right here in Mount Horeb!  You will get to take a tour and see how the Sjölind's team transforms raw cacao beans into the chocolates we'll be sampling.  Of course, there will be door prizes and an awesome set of yarns for you to play with in addition to all the chocolate. The yarns are some store favorites including yarn from Alpaca alpaca farm, Four Crows Farm, and Blackberry Ridge Woolen Mill.  $30 includes light refreshments, yarn, chocolates, and fun! 3-D Wet Felting Workshop: Saturday May 13 from 9 AM- Noon

  Learn wet felting basics while you make a 3-dimensional work of art.  You'll get to play with wool in a fun new way!  Wear clothes that can get wet. $30 plus materials.


Magical Mosaic Shawl: Saturday May 20 from 9 AM- Noon

  Learn this fun and popular technique for knitting with 2 colors. It looks more complicated than it is! You only knit with 1 color in each row. You'll learn new kinds of slipped stitches to create the intricate-looking texture of the shawl.  Check out all the finished ones to get inspired on Ravelry- Frieze Shawl by Lisa Hannes. $30 includes pattern.


Intro to Brioche: Saturday May 27 from 10 AM- Noon

  The basic workings of this intriguing technique will be revealed. Brioche stitch yields a very cushy reversible fabric, which we will create in two colors.  $15, bring 2 colors of a medium weight yarn and ask us about needles.


Baby Surprise Jacket: Tuesdays May 23, 30, and June 13 from 6:30- 8 PM

  Learn how to make this heirloom baby sweater.  It is a classic design from Elizabeth Zimmerman that looks like a potato chip when you are done knitting...and surprise it folds into a sweater! $45, pattern will be available for purchase.
