No More Stinky Socks: Tuesdays Nov. 27, Dec. 4 and 11 from 6:30- 8 PM

   This is our beginning sock class. Learn how to knit socks from the cuff down. If you know how to knit in the round you will be ready for this fun class.  $45.


Silk Scarf Dyeing: Saturday Dec. 1 10 AM- Noon OR Wednesday Dec. 19 6- 8 PM

   Have fun and make a one-of-a-kind scarf. No experience needed; just bring your imagination. There will be time to dye multiple scarves during the class if you'd like. $10 plus cost of the scarf or scarves.

 

Crazy for Pompoms: Friday December 7 from 4-6:30 PM

   Stop in to play with faux fur and make a pompom key fob, zipper pull, or monster/creature. This is a make-and-take open to adults and kids. $7.50 for pompom or $8.50 for pompom creature (with legs and eyes). Additional materials will be available for purchase.


Good Clean Fun: Saturday Dec. 8 from 10 AM- 2 PM

   This is a drop-in make-and-take. We will show you how to make felt over some fabulous Jangle Soapworks scented soap. They make great gifts! $8 includes instruction, fiber and 1 bar of soap; more materials can be purchased. All ages welcome. No need to register; just come in!


Annual Cat and Crow PJ Party: Friday, Dec. 14 from 5-11 PM

   Come knit the night away at The Cat and Crow . Melissa and Rebecca will be happy to help you progress on any holiday projects you have. We'll also serve you drinks and popcorn and join in the knitting and crochet. Bring a favorite snack or sweet treat. Please RSVP so we know how many chairs to bring up from the basement!


Needle-Felt Ornament: Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 AM-1 PM (drop-in; will take about 15-30 mins.) 

   This is a make-and-take. Gwyn will help you use your creativity and our tools to make a great gift. No experience required; open to adults and kids 8 and up with supervision. $10 includes 1 blank ornament, instruction, and use of everything you need for embellishing. (More blank ornaments may be available for $8 each.)


The Shift: Saturday January 12 from 9 AM- Noon

   Learn the technique of mosaic knitting while making this great cowl! We'll get cast-on as a group and work through the first repeat of the pattern together. You'll learn I-cord edging, tricks for carrying yarn up the edge of your project, and more. The pattern is available on Ravelry or in-store, designed by Andrea Mowry. $30 plus pattern.


Infant Hat Knit-a-long: Saturday January 12 from 2- 4 PM

   Please consider joining us to help raise awareness of heart disease in children. We'll be knitting preemie and newborn hats in red and donating them to the American Heart Association. They are hoping to have enough hats for all babies born in February which is Heart Month. Beginner knitters will be welcome to come and work on a hat with assistance. We'll have patterns printed and partial balls of yarn for sale (just enough for 1 hat). We will be here to help you along and feed you treats! FREE

   Would you like to play with dye? Want someone else to do the prep work and cleanup? Drop by The Cat and Crow back room today to dye a skein of yarn, a sock blank, or some roving. $10 (to dye up to 1 lb. of fiber). Yarn and fiber to dye will be available to purchase.

Yeeks! Steeks!: Tuesdays January 22, February 5, and 19 from 6:30- 8 PM

​  Colorwork is made easier using steeks, as you only need do the color work on the right side. In this sweater, the Bergitte Cardigan by Kristin Drysdale, you will learn how to use a steek from set-up through cutting to finishing. Worked up in a worsted weight yarn, it is a relatively quick-to-knit project. Class meets every other week for plenty of knitting time. $45 plus pattern.


Intro to Brioche: Saturday January 26 from 10 AM- Noon
   The basic workings of this intriguing technique will be revealed. Brioche stitch yields a very cushy reversible fabric, which we will create in two colors.  $15; bring 2 colors of medium weight yarn, and needles appropriate for that yarn. 


Fix-It Master: Wednesday February 13 from 6- 8 PM
  You are the master of your knitting! Take this workshop and get more comfortable and confident fixing mistakes in stockinette and garter stitch. We'll use needles, a crochet hook, and fingers...whatever it takes to get rid of problems. $20 (bring smooth light color worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to class.)


Intro to Rigid-Heddle Weaving: Saturday February 16 from 9 AM- Noon
​    This is a beginning weaving class.  You will learn how to warp a Cricket loom and weave a scarf. $30 for the class plus the cost of yarn (we'll have you pick something out when you sign up.) A Cricket loom can be rented for $20/month if you do not own one. This rental fee may be applied to the purchase of a loom in the future.

Magical Mosaic Shawl:  (3 hour class)
    Learn this fun and popular technique for knitting with 2 colors. It looks more complicated than it is! You only knit with 1 color in each row.  You'll learn new kinds of slipped stitches to create the intricate-looking texture of the shawl.    Learn how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off while you make a basket-weave scarf. $45 includes pattern and practice yarn.

Hand-Dyeing Workshop: (4 hour workshop usually on a Saturday)
​   Learn several ways of dyeing yarn to get the effect you want.  We'll play with hand painting, kettle dyeing, and more.  You will also learn more about how colors work together and what a yarn will look like when it is knit.  $40 plus cost of yarn to dye.

​Entrelac Workshop: Saturday April 21 from 1- 4 PM
​    Learn the basics of entrelac in two colors and get started on a cute hat (Ashlar on Ravelry) in your choice of sizes. $30 includes pattern.

   In this class you will learn classic stranded knitting with two colors at a time, using the beautiful pattern, Basic Norwegian Star Hat.  You'll need to knit the ribbed brim before class starts, so we can get to the learning right away!  Kits for other two-color hats will also be available.  $30 plus the cost of a kit (about $15) and pattern.
