Entrelac Workshop: Saturday April 21 from 1- 4 PM

​    Learn the basics of enteric in two colors and get started on a cute hat in a variety of sizes. $30 includes pattern.

 

​​Beginning Knitting: Tuesdays April 24, May 1 & 8 6:30- 8 PM
   Learn how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off while you make a basket-weave scarf. $45 includes pattern and practice yarn.

Beyond Basic Brioche: Saturday May 5 from 10 AM- Noon

​    Pick a two color brioche pattern and let us help you launch your project. We'll work on special increases and decreases and fixing mistakes. Basic understanding of brioche knitting is required; courage and enthusiasm are recommended. $20; bring practice yarn as well as your pattern.


Hand-Dyeing Workshop: Saturday May 12 from 9 AM- 1 PM

   Learn several ways of dyeing yarn to get the effect you want.  We'll play with handpainting, kettle dyeing, and more. You will also learn more about how colors work together and what a yarn will look like when it is knit. $40 plus cost of yarn to dye.


Hat Fundamentals: Saturday May 26 from 9 AM- Noon

   All the things you need to learn to knit all kinds of hats. We'll work on a gauge swatch, joining the hat in the round, and various brims and crowns. You will start a hat of your choosing during class. $30 (bring or buy yarn for your hat).


So Faded KAL: Wednesdays starting May 16 from 6:30- 8 PM (continuing for at least 3 Wednesdays)

   Come when you can to join us in knitting this great sweater.  We'll help pick out colors to mix together; you can bring stash or buy something at the shop. On the first night we'll discuss fit, sizing, and gauge. Then we'll just enjoy seeing what everyone knits...and help you if something goes wrong! FREE


3-D Wet Felting Workshop: Friday June 1 from 1- 4 PM

   Learn wet felting basics while you make a 3-dimensional work of art. You'll get to play with wool in a fun new way! Wear clothes that can get wet. $30 plus materials.


Mini-World Needle Felting: Saturday June 2 from 9 AM- Noon

   Make a scene of your choosing small enough to fit in a teacup! We'll provide the tools, fiber, and know-how. You can bring a fancy teacup or we'll provide a simple glass dish. $35 includes materials.

The Long Skinny: (2 hour class)
    Check out this pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-long-skinny. Then gather up all your bits and ends of fingering weight and sock yarn and sign up for this workshop! We will help you plan the colors, understand the decreases and increases used, and show you how to do an i-cord bind off. We have yarn 'schnibbles' available if you need to round out your yarn supply.  $20 plus pattern.


Magical Mosaic Shawl:  (3 hour class)
    Learn this fun and popular technique for knitting with 2 colors. It looks more complicated than it is! You only knit with 1 color in each row.  You'll learn new kinds of slipped stitches to create the intricate-looking texture of the shawl. Infant Hat Knit-a-long:​
​   Please consider joining us to help raise awareness of heart disease in children.  We'll be knitting preemie and newborn hats in red and donating them to the American Heart Association.  They are hoping to have enough hats for all babies born in February which is Heart Month. You'll need red washable cotton, wool, or acrylic and needles in 12" or 16" circular or double points. You can find patterns when you google Little Hats, Big Hearts Madison. We'll be here to help you along and feed you treats!

 

Intro to Brioche: (2 hour class)
   The basic workings of this intriguing technique will be revealed. Brioche stitch yields a very cushy reversible fabric, which we will create in two colors.  $15; bring 2 colors of medium weight yarn, and needles appropriate for that yarn.

Beginning Knitting: (3 week class 4.5 hours total)
   Learn how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off while you make a basket-weave scarf. $45 includes pattern and practice yarn.

Fix-It Master: (2 hour class)
   You are the master of your knitting! Take this workshop and get more comfortable and confident fixing mistakes in stockinette and garter stitch. We'll use needles, a crochet hook, and fingers...whatever it takes to get rid of problems. $20 (bring smooth light color worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to class.)

Stranded Knitting:​ (3 hour class)
   In this class you will learn classic stranded knitting with two colors at a time, using the beautiful pattern, Basic Norwegian Star Hat.  You'll need to knit the ribbed brim before class starts, so we can get to the learning right away!  Kits for other two-color hats will also be available.  $30 plus the cost of a kit (about $15) and pattern.

Intro to Rigid-Heddle Weaving: (3 hour class)
​    This is a beginning weaving class.  You will learn how to warp a Cricket loom and weave a scarf. $30 for the class plus the cost of yarn (we'll have you pick something out when you sign up.) A Cricket loom can be rented for $20/month if you do not own one. This rental fee may be applied to the purchase of a loom in the future.
