Intro to Brioche: Saturday May 27 from 10 AM- Noon

  The basic workings of this intriguing technique will be revealed. Brioche stitch yields a very cushy reversible fabric, which we will create in two colors.  $15, bring 2 colors of a medium weight yarn and ask us about needles.

 

Baby Surprise Jacket: Tuesdays May 23, 30, and June 13 from 6:30- 8 PM

  Learn how to make this heirloom baby sweater.  It is a classic design from Elizabeth Zimmerman that looks like a potato chip when you are done knitting...and surprise it folds into a sweater! $45, pattern will be available for purchase. 

 

Summer Stash-Busting KAL Kick-Off: Saturday June 3 from 1- 4 PM

  We've been inspired to work on projects that play with color and partial skeins of fingering weight yarn lately including Find Your Fade and The Long Skinny.  Want to join us, but feeling guilty about the fingering weight yarn you have stashed? Here's your chance to bring yarns from home and use 'em up! We'll help you figure out how much yarn you have, how to put the colors together, and start on a project. Bring yarns other people might like and maybe you can even trade! FREE (We'll have examples of projects and patterns will be available to purchase.)
 

Mountain 10 Workshop:​ Friday June 16 from 6:00- 9 PM

​  Listen to your inner wisdom using the powerful process called Mountain 10, based on the ancient pattern of the labyrinth.  The workshop will be facilitated by co-author of the book Mountain 10, Gary Boelhower.  You will trace a labyrinth path on paper and use gentle movement, journaling, appreciative inquiry, and a circle of trust to explore insights.  Take an evening to listen deeply to the music of your own heart! $60 includes the book Mountain 10: Climbing the Labyrinth Within, $40 if you already own the book.


Open Dye Day: Saturday June 17 from 10 AM- 4 PM

  Would you like to play with dye? Want someone else to do the prep work and cleanup? Drop by The Cat and Crow back room anytime today to dye a skein of yarn, a sock blank, or some roving. $10 (to dye up to 1 lb. of fiber). Yarn to dye will be available to purchase.

 

Beginning Lace Project: Wednesdays June 21 and 28 from 6:30- 8 PM

  In this work shop you will learn the basics of lace knitting and create a beautiful capelet: In the Garden by Ilga Leja. We'll cover pattern and chart reading, correcting mistakes in lace, and blocking.  You will need to know knit and purl stitches and have an adventuresome spirit. $35 includes pattern.

 

Mini-World Needle Felting: Saturday July 1 from 9 AM- Noon

  Make a 3-D scene of your choosing small enough to fit in a teacup! We'll provide the tools, fiber, a simple glass dessert cup, and know-how. You can bring a fancy teacup if you'd like. $35 includes materials.

 

Beaded Knitting Workshop: Tuesday July 11 from 6- 8 PM

  Learn seven ways to add beads to your knitting. You'll get to try them all so bring practice fingering or sport weight yarn and appropriate sized needles to class. $25 includes beads to use in your sampler. 


Annual Cat and Crow PJ Party: Friday July 7 from 5- 11 PM

​  Come and knit the night away at The Cat and Crow. We'll have drinks and popcorn and hopefully a yarn-bombing opportunity (bring knitted or crocheted items to donate to the cause if you'd like.) This will be a potluck; if you would like to bring something to share we recommend finger foods or hors d'oeuvres. Please RSVP so we know how many chairs to bring up from the basement!


Silk Scarf Dyeing: Saturday July 15 drop-in between 1 and 4:30 PM

  Have fun and make a one-of-a-kind scarf. No experience needed; just bring your imagination. $10 plus cost of a scarf or two (small scarf $6.50, large scarf $11).
